Job Description: We are seeking a meticulous and adaptable Financial Controller, specialising in Reporting Operations, to join the finance team. This role is critical to the oversight and integrity of our financial and regulatory reporting processes across all branches and entities within Ireland.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee financial and regulatory reporting returns at both branch and entity levels.
- Manage the review and approval of financial accounting journals and adjustments across all Ireland entities, ensuring thoroughness and accuracy.
- Take accountability for the quality of financial analysis provided across multiple regions and/or entities.
- Address ad hoc reporting requests from diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Coordinate the audit process with External Auditors for subsidiary financial statements, maintaining progress and meeting deadlines, while providing support to Finance and Business departments.
- Oversee the period-end close process, ensuring that complex financial accounting adjustments are properly reflected in our accounting and finance systems, and conduct critical reviews of Balance Sheet substantiation documentation.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Should Possess:
- Qualified Accountant status or a relevant degree in finance or a related field.
- Additional professional qualifications such as CIMA or ACCA are highly advantageous.
- A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience, with a preference for backgrounds in Financial Services or Banking.
- A deep understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), financial accounting, and control frameworks.
- Extensive knowledge of banking products, as well as statutory and financial reporting regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with international teams.
- Proven decision-making capabilities in accounting and control matters.
