This leading financial institution is seeking a high-calibre and self-motivated Project Manager to join their Data Change Centre of Excellence. In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive projects of high complexity and scale, contributing to the organisation’s board-level commitments and strategic objectives.
Position Overview
As a Project Manager within the Data Change Centre of Excellence, you will play a crucial role in planning, mobilising, and driving projects from definition to closure. You will be responsible for the end-to-end planning and delivery of projects with multiple workstreams, proactively balancing scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, dependencies, teams, outcomes, and benefits. Your first assignment will involve executing the Data Issue Fix (Finance) programme using the Agile methodology while maintaining oversight of product development roadmaps and adoption plans.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Programme Manager and DAO Portfolio Management team to align projects with the wider change portfolio and DAO strategy
- Influence project approaches and build stakeholder buy-in around project plans, commitments, and changes
- Lead change initiatives, establishing robust project governance in accordance with the organisation’s Change Framework
- Partner with Scrum Masters to facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
- Effectively deliver projects, highlighting, escalating, and resolving risks, issues, and dependencies, while making recommendations to influence decision-making
- Proactively manage baselined scope, requirements, benefits, schedule, and budget, demonstrating the ability to deliver to commitments
- Manage stakeholder and senior management relationships across different markets and global business functions
- Provide leadership across projects, setting team performance expectations and monitoring progress
- Supervise teams, manage delivery, and report on complex assignments
Requirements
- Exceptional understanding of data, particularly in regulatory reporting and delivery
- Excellent knowledge of financial institutions and financial services
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Project Manager role, with extensive skills in managing large and complex global projects in a change environment
- Strong stakeholder management experience, from executive level to analysts, with a focus on impactful communication
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget, achieving business case stated outcomes
- Experience in applying Agile methodology in project and product development
- Agile certifications (e.g., SAFe) are advantageous
- Familiarity with the organisation’s standards and processes
- Impeccable written, verbal, and presentation skills, with exposure to working successfully within a global matrix organisation model
